Just another body mod idea that i got after looking at the goon with its front grill hood unite, what if you took the trunk deck and chopped it above the light so that the bottom was a little deeper and the lid was slim? I know the lock would have a little trouble finding a new home. But if it was cut then we could really have a wide variety of tails to put on right?

 

Are you saying to have the lid overlap the tail light? And what kind of tail lights did you have in mind?

 

i mean to have the whole light panel be one piece of metal or fiber from top to bottom with the trunk lid resting on the top. Tail lights i'm not too sure about i was just trying to give some ideas to people. I don't have access to a welder or cutter so i'm limited on fab just have ideas. I dig the new wheels in your sig I'll find some lights and post them later.

 

I think he's tryin to do a mod like..... say my wife's J30 where the trunk lid is'nt connected to the tail/or reflector lights.which does'nt seem like to bad of an idea other than the locking thingamadoohickiebob,tryin to find a new spot for that would be a pain in the dinglez

 

The 3rd gen max is one of few cars that I wouldnt change the rear lights because the stock lights look good with the trunk lid. But it would be interesting to see what it would like with aftermarket lights. Post pics if you follow through with that idea!!

 

Well, we dont know if thats exactly what his idea is, but assuming that he wants to relocate the maxima center piece to be static and not go up along with the trunk lid... personally I think it would make it more of a ***** to get things in and out of your trunk. Its hard as it is if you ask me. IMO it might not be too practical, if anything make it take a bigger chunk up with the lid so you can put stuff in easier

 

Its just a mod to be different. I don't mean it to be practical. I know that its a to get things in and out of the trunk. Might just leave the lights alone.
