Ever wonder what happens when one of these

(that's about 6" thick and 15' long) falls on a Maxima?
You get this:

I really didn't want to find this out. Especially since, until I get the Celica running, this is our only car.
*******it.
On a side note, anyone want to buy a slightly battered 92 SE? All the glass is intact, sunroof wont retract but does go up and down. Poor seal.

I should have titled it "Gauging interest: 92 SE Part Out"
I think the limb has been dead for a while because it only weights about 60 or 70 lbs. If it was a freash one, it would have gone through the car.
Oh yeah, and my wife was sitting in it rolling up the windows when it happened. scared the **** out of her

That reminds me. There was a 3rd gen at my buddies shop that was totaled. It was wrecked so bad the roof was buckled and looked like that. We set off fire crackers in the car for ***** and grins. I set off a huge mortar thing and it made the roof pop back out So.... if you can wait to July 4th I can show you how to fix the roof. LOL
Obviously, the car's still drivable. Between this and a slew of other problems, I've been planning on letting it go anyway. Right now, if you floor it, it shuts off, it really doesn't like going into 3rd gear, the clutch is still misaligned and goes whoosh whoosh whoosh, it constantly smells of coolant even though I don't appear to be losing any, the speedo/odo haven't worked since May of 06, the suspension's long gone, the rack squeels... it's just not worth it anymore. The tree limb was just the kicker.

With all this going wrong with the car,you might want try MAINTAINING your next car...The only reason the car is in such bad shape is because you failed to fix parts that have failed...

Well, my mother-in-law really let it go to **** while I was deployed overseas and I've kept it running since, but I try to tackle to problems that would keep it off the road before I throw money at the other ones. With 300,000 miles, it seems it's just one thing after another. (the 300,000 is an approximation since the odo quit at 250,502)
She's been a good car. She's seen a good 75000 miles over the course of two years. I would have let her go a long time ago if i could have brought myself to it.

Pop that back as best you can, then turn it into a track ****.
Replace the bad coil packs (stalling problem)
Put in an exedy stage 1 and fidanza flywheel (clutch problem)
Strip out the interior (sell it and buy one racing seat)
zip tie the springs (suspension problem)
add some Nitrous
have fun and drive it till it goes boom

Sorry about your car. I would hate for that to happen to my baby. I would also hate to make car payments when not absolutely necessary. I would try to salvage that beast though. I know you're tired of dealing with it, but what would it cost you to set some of that mess straight versus a newer car?
