wheel bearing causing viberation
I just got my tires rotated and now car vibrate above 60 mph. I went for toe allignment but was told that the bearing on the right whell need to replaced. Also the struts need replacement too. There was very minimal play in the wheel but there is no noticeable noise i hear from that wheel. Should I get these service done and how much should it cause?
Thanks

OK. I do believe I can help you out. I have just finished replacing both wheel bearings on my car. A shop told me my right one was out...well it was out - but not making a noise <vibration> my left one was. SO after replacing the right one and still having problems..I was frustrated..but it is best to replace both these at the same time. They are both just as hold. The part you need cost 40.00 from AUtozone. that is the cheapest price. Napa is about 10 dolalrs more. your own choice. Each side <bearign> has two seals as well. They are 15 a piece. making it 70.00 per side. The labor is about 1 to 1 1/2 hours. I did both myself. It can be a treat I tell you. You will 17.18 and 19mm sockets, as well as a 1/2 rachet OR breaker bar to get the CV bolt off the car. (It is compressed on really hard from factory). To compress the bearing out. You need a huge socket and a sledge hammer. As well, you will see one part of the Wheel Bearing will get stuck on the hub. the ONLY way to get this off is heat it up and chisel it off.... until you have gotten a few inch. THen you can use a puller tool. (Just take hub to Autozone, they should help you there) And to put the new wheel earings in..you use the sledgehammer again. This is a full days work if you do both sides at once. Or else it is about 400 ot pay a shop. No more than that. 200.00 is a deal infact if it includes parts! I did one side one night and one the other.... it can be a pain..but it feels good to loose the vibration
ENJOY
Thanks
