I know the gains from a high-flow cat are low, but I couldnt turn down this deal.

What do you guys think about this?

It's not a cat, it's just a pipe with flanges at the ends to replace the cat. This will not pass emissions, and you will have no low end.

Jeff,

I have one of these that I haven't put on yet. I got a '91 SE 5spd too. Please post about how it works out.

I wouldn't advise it!

Maximum5spd(5spd VG) just finsished having problems with his "test pipe"....his acceleration dwindled very badly and he lost a few tenths of a second off his 0-60(according to the Gtech)...I'm sure he'll tell you the same if he reads this post too! I'd leave the cat stock or get a Catco or Carsound hi-flow cat conv.!

hojo, i don't where you got this info from but ummm, that is a hi flow cat that bolts on (you can even see the longer one standing up was designed for a nissan, seeing how it has the little hole on the side where the sensor goes). i have passed emissions test with my hi flow cat. yes i did lose a little low end but high end was great, felt like it pulled a little harder.

eh

I bought the same pipe for my 92 gxe and noticed little to no gains or losses. However it did make my car a hell of a lot louder.

What brand of cat do you have? What he is selling is not a cat, it has nothing on the inside like any catalytic converter does, they are hollow. A real high flow cat, RT, Carsound, etc.. Will give better perfoemance than a test pipe. They keep some back pressure in the exhaust system where a test pipe will not. And what senser are you talking about?

I agree with Hojo...

no way those are cat converters...even the "tall one". if you look inside a cat converter there is a "honey comb" style material and I highly doubt any of those have that material in them. and as for there being a hole for the O2 sensor ....its not in the cat converter anyways, its located in the Y-pipe.

no i did not buy my hi flow cat, i am college student and on a budget so i gutted out my cat, hence hi flow cat. yeah, you are right da max, my bad, it is on the y pipe. and yeah you will probably see no gains if you still have stock intake, y pipe, and muffler. if you have all of those plus a high flow cat, it will compliment it nicely and you should feel some gains.
