I know the gains from a high-flow cat are low, but I couldnt turn down this deal.
What do you guys think about this?

I have one of these that I haven't put on yet. I got a '91 SE 5spd too. Please post about how it works out.

Maximum5spd(5spd VG) just finsished having problems with his "test pipe"....his acceleration dwindled very badly and he lost a few tenths of a second off his 0-60(according to the Gtech)...I'm sure he'll tell you the same if he reads this post too! I'd leave the cat stock or get a Catco or Carsound hi-flow cat conv.!

hojo, i don't where you got this info from but ummm, that is a hi flow cat that bolts on (you can even see the longer one standing up was designed for a nissan, seeing how it has the little hole on the side where the sensor goes). i have passed emissions test with my hi flow cat. yes i did lose a little low end but high end was great, felt like it pulled a little harder.

What brand of cat do you have? What he is selling is not a cat, it has nothing on the inside like any catalytic converter does, they are hollow. A real high flow cat, RT, Carsound, etc.. Will give better perfoemance than a test pipe. They keep some back pressure in the exhaust system where a test pipe will not. And what senser are you talking about?Originally posted by nodoubt711

no way those are cat converters...even the "tall one". if you look inside a cat converter there is a "honey comb" style material and I highly doubt any of those have that material in them. and as for there being a hole for the O2 sensor ....its not in the cat converter anyways, its located in the Y-pipe.

no i did not buy my hi flow cat, i am college student and on a budget so i gutted out my cat, hence hi flow cat. yeah, you are right da max, my bad, it is on the y pipe. and yeah you will probably see no gains if you still have stock intake, y pipe, and muffler. if you have all of those plus a high flow cat, it will compliment it nicely and you should feel some gains.
Well, it should be here by saturday and Ill let you guys know if its actually got some type of filter inside. If its just a pipe...Ill be dissapointed. If its a test pipe, I was mislead.
