Has anybody had issues with the throttle positioning sensor?

I've read alot about low end hesitation and bogging down possibly being due to a malfunctioning TPS. My 92 SE has been experiencing these symptoms and they seem to be getting worse . If anyone has advise it would be greatly appreciated.

yea, a lot of people have problems with VE hesitation. My car has been doing this since I got it, it only got worse... I don't know about the Throttle Position sensor, but some think the cause is the Coolant Temperature Sensor?... I keep confusing those 2... What you do is look for corrosion on the connectors, if it's there, you carefully clean it off.. then see if it helps, it did for many apparantly.. But didn't work for some, like myself... Car still jerks and hesitates like ****... What you should also check is maybe the O2 sensor or the MAF sensor... these can cause this as well, along with regular tune up items, spark plugs, air and fuel filters etc...

Hi!
Uh oh, I think my 92 SE is having the same problem. It hesitates and the acceleration is not smooth, but rather uneven. It sometimes seem to bog at low rpm (under 3000.) Is this the same problem? Does anyone have proof or experience that replacing the TPS solves the problem? How much does a TPS cost anyway?

They're cheap, like $50 or so. Replace it, clean your coolant temp sensor connections, then replace your O2 sensor and KNOCK SENSOR. This will probably cure your hesitation problems. IF you car is jerking really bad, especially on the highway, then you probably have a bad ignition coil.
