Just wondering what is the best possible times for 0-60 and 1/4 times for a stock 92 'auto' VG SE.

And also what are the possible fastest times for 0-60 and 1/4 with modifications.

I know maybe alot of people have already asked this question before, but I have just recently hooked up with Maxima.org and I am also located in Australia, where sadly there isn't much (maybe not at all)of a following to the Maxima cars, as people here think their family sedans and not sport sedans, a sad fact. Also we didnt get the VE and the 5 speed tranny, another sad fact.

I think....

fastest stock auto VG would do around 16.7-16.8+ in the 1/4th....and 0-60 of 8.5-9 seconds. I think modded NA goes to Skymax with 15.3(I think) in the 1/4th and NOS I think goes to THE MAX with a 13.8 or so(not too sure). but thats the basic for a VG auto I guess......

I heard some guy with a modded 90 SE auto ran 15.4@91mph no NOS, Turbo, or S/C. I heard he was using a modded auto tranny (which died on his first run at the track) *cough* that's odd how this guy's 90 SE's die on his first run at the track.

I ran a 16.53 1/4 at Maxus. I have a 94 GXE with just a Stillen Intake. I know many people said that track was all screwy on their times and made them slower, but I was happy with my time.

I'm impressed. My quickest time stock was 16.9 and then it was 16.77 with exhaust. 16.53 is really quick for only having an intake. Good job.

I got a 16.7 at Maxus with just the JWT pop intake, but I have a 5spd. I think that I could have done better.

If your max has been fully maintained and running properly, you should be able to get 16.3 - 16.5 as your best times with an intake & 5-spd.

My max has been well maintained as far as the engine goes. Do you think the manifold studs could slow me down? I dont think is anything else wrong with it. I had a lot of weight in the car (dual subs, clothes, box full of car care stuff). I had a 16.7 @ 81.99 mph. I think tha my R/T of .94 was a factor?

Reaction time doesn't effect your 1/4 mile run. The weight is a problem. If you want to go fast, you need to reduce the weight so that your equal to or below stock weight. Your ability to drive a 5-spd also pays a big role in your 1/4 mile run. With all that weight you had in your car and the slow track (so they say) your 16.7 run is pretty good.

under 16 sec....is it possible???

Hmmm...interesting about the guy who ran the 15.4 1/4 with the moded auto tranny.

But is it really 'practically' possible to get an auto VG to run under 16 sec, say with exhaust, intake and other mods, but no NOS and Turbo.

Alot of new V6 cars here in Australia can run under 16 sec. Dont know about over there in the states, but in one of the most popular motor magazines here in Australia, they have ran a auto 2001 Toyota Camry CSi (maybe called differently over there in the states)with a V6 twin cam engine at 15.69 for the 1/4.

Now I dont really want to be beaten on the streets by a Camry, according to these figures.

Damn I wish we got the VE and 5 speed over here in Australia.

Probably some idiot who doesn't know how to modify engines and spends more money on mods then he does for a college education.

Yes, it's possible to make a VG auto run under 16's. It'll take some money though.. You'll probably need a CAI, Y-pipe, cat-back exhaust, UDP, valve body upgrade, torque convertor upgrade, fuel pressure regulator, and some ECU tuning. I didn't realize that the 2001 auto Camry over there runs mid 15's. I'm not sure what they run over here but that's pretty quick for an auto Camry.

well to reiterate what it will take to get an auto VG into the 15's, i have a CAI, Y, high flow cat and catback and still only ran a 16.61. Probably still room to pull a 16.5x. we'll see what happens with the UDP and torque converter install during the winter...

Well there's something wrong with your max.. you and I both know that. lol I was running 16.4 with my auto 90 SE with only CAI, cat-back exhaust, NGK plugs, and 17" wheels.

Wed. night is fine with me... hope I get my max back soon. We'll have to do this soon. College starts in 2 weeks.. so I probably won't be able to go to the track on a Wed. night during that time.

i know i know...im going to have some diagnostics run when i have the car in for it's T-belt change. I'm happy with the time yet at the same time it sucks because i should be running faster. it was humid that night and in the upper 70's so that could have hindered me a bit as well but im not looking for excuses...

Yeah I was really impressed with my time too. Looking to add a UDP and a Y-pipe, and hoping that will drop my time some more.

Actually, I have no idea. After I broke the tranny autocrossing I've been afraid to drag race it. Selling it soon, so not going to try breaking it again now. I can tell you that I finally got to peg the thing a few weeks ago and I hit 133mph before I got out of it. Not sure if more distance would've produced more or not.
