Greetings to all! I'm very happy to have found this site as I'm sure it will help me keep my MAXIMA primo...

Just last night someone busted my tail light section that's on the trunklid inbetween the tail lights! Insurance is going to pay - how much will this piece run and can I easily fix it myself?

im not sure how much the middle piece of the trunk lid cost, i dont have my parts book with me but from the dealer it should cost you around 100 - 150 or so.... and from after market place would be cheaper...... to replace
that part is very easy, well what u have to do , is take that carpet cover part of the inside of the trunk lid out, then there are about 8 bolts you need to unbolt, and then take it off.....

 

See how much dealer will charge.....Get that amount from insurance....then go to a junkyard and get yourself one off another car, make a couple of bucks..........

 

Thanks much for the info and advise on the junkyard...I actually did think of doing the junkyard route - just gotta find a decent Maxima in the yards. Also the installation words were right on...thanks!

I went to the dealer and they said $250 Canadian so that's like 140 to 150 Us.

its in good shape i know it is all decals are intact on it but ilive 50 miles from my parents house. i just sold my white gauge cluster to a guy off the board. but anyways ill try illget it removed one of these days and send you a pic.

 

Ok, thanks, again, for your reply. A couple questions for you...does it have ANY cracks or bad scratches? Where do you live? You said all the decals were intact - cool. Also, just to make sure...this is a dark, black plastic version(not red - GXE), correct? I'm still rather new to whole Maxima scene - I just got my white, 1990 SE with 79K this past April and it's been a great car! How soon do you think I could see/get it? My insurance is looking at it tomorrow and then I'm going to take it to a shop - they're going to fix a small dent - lower leftrear fender near bumper. I'm also going to get the rear spoiler re-mounted.

Thank you very much for the reply! Thanks for the photo...it looks great. Is this the complete finishing piece with bolts and everything? I haven't taken my existing one off yet, so I don't know exactly what all I'll be needing. When I undo the 8 or so bolts from inside the trunk lid, does just an outside cover piece come off or the entire plastic stuff off of the metal lid? What do I do about the key hole?

Needless to say, yes, I'm interested. I looks just like mine. How much are you asking? I'm waiting to hear back from a parts yard in PA tomorrow. I know brand-new I can get it for 201 plus shipping.
