i guess the car has an alarm system in it, cuz my friend accidentally triggered a couple of weeks ago. but since then i havent figured out how he did it. he came again and tried to do what he did, but it didnt trigger. after about 10 minutes of trying different stuff, it finally triggered. how exactly does the alarm system make the sound?

The alarm system has always baffled me because the few
times I have accidently set it off, I couldn't remember
what I was doing to trigger it and so could not recreate
the incident. I did have it happen when I had the battery
go bad or low one time and after a jumpstart, the alarm
somehow got triggered. The bad thing was that it would
only drive for a mile or so and then the fuel pump would
cut out; pretty nifty in a way, a pain at the time though
since I was trying to limp home. I ended up calling the
local dealership and they told me how to disarm it since
I did not have an owners manual telling me how to do it.
Might have to dig around in the service manual and see if
there is a section on diagnostics for the security system
that tells what all will trip it.
Thanks for the information...

Shhhhhh! It's a secret! If I tell you, I'll have to kill
you so you will not divulge it to anyone else...
Having said that...
The guy at the dealership told me (after I set mine off
accidently) that all you have to do is put your key in
the passenger's side door lock and cycle it a few times.
That is, just unlock and lock the passenger door using
the key a couple of times and that should reset it.

like people said already, to arm: roll down window, get out, lock all doors, wait until SECURITY light turns off in dash, reach through window, unlock, open door, lights should flash and horn should honk
