My Max can't hold antifreeze for more than a few miles...took it to a mechanic and he said it's the waterpump.
Trouble is he's having trouble finding one for my car...at least locally.

Would Coutesy be the best place to get one of these online?
I checked carparts.com and they had like 5 or 6 different models for my car.

Yeah from courtesy nissan is the best place. dont forget to ask for the internet discount (%25). If you look at the post titled: UDP question for ve owners. you can get an idea of what needs to be done for the job. If your max has high miles you might want the oil seal replaced behind the main pulley (the part is like $2) since this seal typically leaks sooner or later.

no need to ask for the discount. courtesy's prices already have the 25% off list built into them for OEM parts...

Is there any quality difference between the $50 Autozone waterpump and the $85 Courtesy? I don't want to spend $200 in laber and have the waterpump go out after a few thousand miles.

-Thanks,

ila

Thanks Ara77

I just checked with Autozone and the pump is $70.00 and made by a company called APORA and has a liftime warranty.
So I just ordered that so I won't have to pay shipping through Courtesy.

I need my car back on the road soon.

Guess it's a little late for this... but I'll post it anyway...

I got my NEW (not reman) water pump for $25 from Advanced Auto. I was actually impressed with the quality and it has held up great now for about 12,000 miles.

I got mine for $45 at Advanced Auto. $25 must have been a mistake, because my $45 was lower than the normal price due to a mistake on their part.

And yes, the pump I got was bran new and has a lifetime warranty. It took me all day to install though. Refer to my site for install instructions. You may want to pass those on to the installer.

Yes, this was a VE (the 92 SE)
