what kind of struts work best

What do you mean by electronic suspension?

Mine has the Sonar Suspension which is partially electronic.

the 89 gxe had the electronic suspension but the se had the
modifed stiff suspension i have a se and in the manual it says that
the other maximas have a switch on the consoule right next to where the power and comfort switch is on the auto se. hope that helps

it was an option for the GXEs
I had an 89GXE without it

if you do have the electronic suspension then nissan is your best bet (if u want to keep the feature). if not then you're open to the other brand of struts.
