Hey man whats up with you???? You told me you would send the check and I have not received anything. If I knew this is the way you conducted business I would have never dealt with you!! How come you don't respond to my IM messages??

If you're planning on doing business with many people on this board, you need to get used to this one.
In the few months I've been parting out my car, I've had several HUNDRED emails from people telling me "the check's in the mail" for parts, yet never received them. I'd say 1 in 20 of my parts inquiries actually end up with money in my pocket.

As for Jon, I've heard this more than once about him, but I'm not about to flame him since I don't know the situation. if he promised you money for parts/services that you haven't done yet, just let it go. you probably won't get it. If you sent him parts/services already under the assumption he'll pay you later, then you need to yell louder at his private messages and make a fool out of him ( on the OFF TOPIC BOARD) until he pays his debts.

just like anywhere else you go.. lots of people WANT to buy stuff, but don't have the money..

how many times have you (or any of us for that matter) walked into a stereo /performance/whatever store and got price quotes on the stuff you like, then turn around "I'll be back tomorrow to buy it."

suuuure ya will.

Now Matt, I totally agree with ya there!! One of the perils of business, sometimes. I try my darndest to NOT 'welch out' on a deal, but I've ran into situations where I told someone that the money was on the way, but then crap happens and I couldn't send the money out. But I ALWAYS got in contact with the person I was dealing with and let them know, which is only proper I think.

And hey, SEguy182..... I can feel your pain, bro. Now, I'm not standing up for anyone or flaming anyone, but I had dealt with Jon a bit back, in regards to getting some stuff from him. Now granted, it took him a bit to ship out my stuff, but it DID get here. But Matt's right when he says to just give him another holla.... A BIT CLOSER, though.

Yeah, but I didn't expect people to be like that on the org. I mean, this guy is a liar!!!! He has done nothing but BS through our business transaction. He has the money to do the transaction and we figured out all the shipping charges but we are still no where. Then he wants me to get in contact with everybody and their mothers to ask them if I'm going to rip him off. He has been a pain in the a$$ and I just want to warn people not to do business with him.

Don't deal with me then. If asking for references is too much for you, I'm sorry I ripped you off for your time. I'd rather not buy from you anymore.

I'll make sure people will stay away from your type of bussiness transcations. I hope nobody goes through what I did with you. All you did was lie through out everything. I'm glad people warned me about you because if I would of sent the wheels and not receive a payment........ You talked to everybody and their mothers and that didn't make you happy. Now your saying that asking for references is too much for me!! What?? I've been wating for your check for the past 2 weeks now. What happened with that?? You are the reason why people don't ship items and why people mistrust each other.

No thankfully it hasn't happened to me since I havent put myself in that predicament. It's sad to say that some of us have to learn the hard way. It happen's. I'm sure you have learned from your personal experience now, so what more can I say than to be extra careful next time conducting business of this sort.

Nubian, you're right.. It's only proper to let the seller know if you can't buy the stuff.. I understand situations come up. (I was about 3 seconds from buying another VG to turbo my car when I totalled it. I'd actually paid a down payment on the second engine and had to get my money back. But just contact the seller and give them a reasonable explanation, and everything's cool. Not fun on either end, but it's the professional thing to do.

Dan, yes.. all our transactions have gone smoothly. (other than taking weeks for the mail to get there!)

Jon, my recommendation in your situation is to either send the guy the money, or apologize and get out so he can sell his wheels to someone else. Don't waste people's time asking them to get references on your past transactions if you don't intend to give the guy the money and finish the deal... the only thing I hate worse than someone saying they'll buy it and not paying is for them to seal the deal and wait 6 weeks to send the money. If you don't have the $ to pay for it right then, then don't buy it and let the seller move their stuff.
I've been nice enough to hold parts for a couple weeks for a few people "until they get paid".. well half of them never seem to get paid. the other half pay that week. it gets pretty annoying when I have 6 people waiting in line for ONE part because no one will send money. That's why I don't like doing business with many people around here.

Now that I sound like everyone's father, I'm going to lock the thread before it turns into any more of a flame war. just do business with each other the same as you would do with any company you're buying stuff from. send the money, get your stuff. do it quick and get out and everyone's happy.
