cv boots replaced, clicking sound continues
I was warned by mechanics long ago about the condition of my cv boots but always put it off. Until i heard the clicking sound they said i can expect any day now. Well shortly after hearing it(on right turns always), I came to my senses and replaced both($60 from local "asian-car only" guru). Anyway, I thought all was well until recently I hear the clicking sound again. And I think it's even worse than I remember it originally. Have I damaged my axle? Thanks.

OUCH!
oh man, you should've replaced those boots IMMEDIATELY if they were damaged/leaking! What happens is that either dirt can enter the CV joint or all the lube sprays out. Or both. Either way, this is the quick way to kill your joints pronto. By the time you hear the clicking in the turns it's too late. Now you're going to have to spend a lot more than a couple cheap boots and get the damaged CVs replaced or rebuilt.
If you don't know much about cars sometimes it's better to actually believe mechanics and their doomsaying. Sorry man, oh well, live and learn.

well that certainly sucks
And if I replaced the axles and still heard clicking, is about the same time i'd also hear the Twilight Zone music in the background. But back to the problem at hand, what kinda $ damage am I looking at in regards to replacing axles. And what else am I risking while driving like this? Thanks in advance.

If they still click? Only on turns? Then I'd have little idea... differential problems maybe? Bad wheel bearings?
Unless the faulty CV wasn't fixed/replaced, although I don't think that you can replace just half a driveshaft. (unless like me you've got a squeaky tire, which makes this weird metallic, squeaky, crunchy noise that freaked me out for a while - long story, don't ask
)
Driving on clicking CVs shouldn't be too bad depending on how much louder they're getting. Just get it fixed soon and don't punch the gas too hard. At worst they could snap at the joint, but whether they just hang limp there and leave you stranded or start flailing about annihilating everything around them I have no idea....
As for the cost, I'm not sure since I've never had to replace CVs before. I'd suggest letting your fingers do the walking on Monday at a few local shops. Good luck!

rac/pinon boots
What about this guys? My cv boots are fine (thank god) However...my rack / pinon - well I jsut rep[laced both bushings..and noticed the boot is torn in half on rack/pinon - the click is not hideous..its one click when I stop - more a thump kinda..now do I have to replace the 4 million dollar rack and pinon or just replace boot and fill with lots o guuuu? Or is the rubber bushing jsut not on correctly. I did have problems getting the back of the bushing to fit around the back of the rac/pinon. tell me what you think?
