clock problem...again
I have a digital clock problem, again. My clock come on and off periodically and I do exactly how Craig Brace show on his page. After that, my clock work good some period (3-4 weeks) but problems back. Any new idea or solution?
Sounds like you need to find a good used clock at your local junkyard or find one in the classifieds section here..

I alyways thought that clock looked too boring anyway
At one point I Was thinking of putting a mini 1.5" Lcd that shows a rear view cam with a digitial clock written on the video screen.
Or, a digital compass/clock . I've seen compasses that would fit perfectly there, but they look like crap.
but realisticly, try and find the newest used clock possible (from a 94 i guess) then do the recommended fixes if you have problems again.

ive been wondering if there was a way to modify the harness for a differnt clock. I was thinking of playing around on the other maxima. Could i theoretically just use the power and groudn from our harnesses and solder them to another clocks + and - terminals? would that work just as long as it has a 12v power supply?
Constant 12+/Switched(ignition on)12+/ground would be minimal..
youre right, what was i thinking, i basically proved myself wrong in my own post.
is it safe to hook up the constant 12v + switched 12v to the same terminal on the clock if u soldered it al ?

Hook up all the wires mentioned to their respective places.
more like you'll fubar something else in the electrical circuit or simply back things up to a diode in the line somewhere.
but think about what you're asking for a while.....
before you post another question, write it down and sit on it for 10 min before hitting the post button.

lol damn when i said bose and radio i meant CLOCK, i was tlakin to sumone online about a radio. yea got that all wrong i meant do i ahve to find out which plugs on the other car radio that the constant and swtitched 12c and ground go to? There we go.
teeeeeeennnn minutes
on fixing the old one.If you soldered it up, and it worked for a while, then stopped working again, one of your solder joints let go. Take it out, heat it up again, and get into that joint with something like an ice pick to scrape the wire, and contact foil on the board a little bit, then melt a bit of new solder in there. Better yet, buy some desoldering braid from Radio Shack, remove the old solder all together, clean the wire and contact with a little fine sandpaper (perhaps 100 or 150) and then put some new solder on there.

the problem is: clock work one day, another two not work, then work again, not work, work, not work... it make me nervous.
If I fix it again, problems will probably back after some time.
So I'll go to the junkyard and find something acceptable

That will not do jack. It's very typical with our clocks there are weak solder joints. I've re soldered a couple to know. You however don't know first hand and have been cluttering up the .org tonight with useless crap. Stop typing.... Welcome to the .org
