You live in NYC? I saw a post on NYCmaximas about a stock motor Max dynoing 400WHP at a shop up there recently.

http://forums.nycmaximas.org/showpos...9&postcount=16

Then again, he does say it was around August.

HOLY MOLY!
That's crazy power on the asphalt! Geez, I wish I could install a turbo kit... however, I don't think the state of California would be too fond of me doing so... stupid smog checks.

I'm surprised you're doing 18psi+ on stock bottom ends... i thought when running at such high psi, you need to reinforce? But, I know nothing of turbos, so yeah... I'm just used to hearing averages of no more than 10psi on stock turbo'd cars.

:jealous:

Ahh ok I get it... now. Even though I know you are joking, I'd never feel jealous. It's a whole different car with the same shell. I'm not interested in boost, or nitrous, so there's no point to me comparing. I'm more about all motor. But I am always definitely stoked to see our 3rd gens making powah and learning about how they went about achieving it. I'd actually be more inclined to be jealous of anyone who has the same car, same mods, but a better time at the track. For me that says more about the driver than the car. And I need to be the best driver... in the world buwahahaha!

My thoughts exactly. 18/19 psi is quite high. Would the VG or VE last very long on that much juice without being rebuilt or 'reinforced'?

But I'm not hatin' LOL. Congrats on getting all that power from the turbo kit.

As long as your timing is good and your at least 11:1, or lower, Air fuel ratio wise.... it takes it. Its all in the tuning, you can blow these engines up at 10 psi when not tuned correctly, or you can throw nearly 20 psi at them for a long time with out hurting them. My personal goal is 500 whp on a completely stock engine. So far the record on these engines is 480.

Very nice. Still awaiting funds to get a professional tune myself.

BTW, you wouldn't email me your current Live Edit tune to see how it works on my car would you?

Im the only one who tunes my car. we did 8 pulls and this is what we came up with at the end. If you want me to write you a map i can. just send me all of your information and ill see what i can come up with. (injector size, maf, Fuel press, displacement, compression, turbo size, intercooler size, throttle body, down pipe + exhaust size, etc..)

there's always a way to get around inspections. do you think all those SR's and RB's rolling around passed inspections?

I wonder what your quarter mile times would be with those numbers, if you did a 12.8 w/ 14psi. Would running that amount of boost at the track affect the engine any differently than doing it on the dyno?

Honestly, I've never hurt a transmission. Ive got 30+ quarter mile runs on this transmission (Vlsd) and my previous trans that i swapped out for the vlsd was in fine condition still and that had been in for 30000 miles boosted with absolutely No problems. Me and Neal are still both in amazement that i haven't ever hurt the transmission yet. More recently i was even doing 6000 rpm clutch drop launches on 26 inch slicks with no problem.. who knows i might just be lucky.

You are just amazing me!!!!
If I tried 6k rpm on any car... the only thing i'd feel is the clunk when the tranny falls out....

Knock on wood... glad to hear you've had such good luck with your engine!! keep vroomin'!
