Does everyone else chime sound like just a click? Sometimes mine chimes and sometimes it just clicks. I even switched the chime thing on the back of the clusterwhen i swapped my gauges.

 

yeah, mine does sometimes, too.
not sure the cause.
usually it chimes as it should(with the exception of driving down the road, and the seatbelt warning comes on).
id venture a guess and say it may be bad wiring or something that doesnt allow good power, but its just a guess.

 

I think it is just the mechanism wearing out.

did u use a new chime, or a used one when you swapped them?

 

what is the stupid thing even supposed to sound like? a clear ringing bell sound? mine makes sound but I'm not sure if it's right or not.

 

just the one off the other cluster. i doubt they sell them new and if they did, they would probably cost an unholy amount.

 

best description I can think of is like a doorbell, but higher pitched (to be pleasant enough to be noted, but not annoying) and quieter. it should have a resonating sound rather than a "clingk! clongk!" sound, more of a "ding, dong".
I made a recording of it, but then remembered, cant upload that stuff( or can I?).

 

then i should swap mine. i have an extra one.
