Original Bulb???
Original Bulb???
This bulb I replaced 2 years ago always looked a bit fishy to me, so I kept it around till I got a chance snapping a pic of it. Anybody think it's possible this can be original? Never seen anything like this during my vast experience of bulb replacements lol.. "ICHIKOH JAPAN" and theres a US patent number on the other side. Check it out..
Yea! thats what I'm talking about, the org is coming back to life with new threads!!!
dude that thing looks old, considering its brown lol. Whether its original or not I dont know but I'm sure its old

Im just working to afford fixing both my cars. Though I am picking up a VQ35 this weekend...
Maybe I'll just throw it in the maxima any way.....
....well there are more 4th gens in the JY around here....hmmm...
As for the thread, I just replaced both my bulbs last week. I'll have to go check and see if they have any oem markings.
Keep in mind maybe they were replaced by an owner that just went to the dealer, there may not be a big difference in what was shipped when the car was new and what they had a few years ago.

Yeah, it's possible the original owner went to the dealer for it. Everything was super OEM on the car when I got it. Down to the original unused spare with the color markings still on the thread. Wish there was a way to find out if it is original. Highly unlikely of this type of bulb to live this long though.
TAKE THAT!
dude I got that centerpiece a day or two after you pointed it out lol. This is a pic from last 2006
This is what happened to that one centerpiece you pointed out, bah got lazy and left it alone

When I took out my original bulb many years ago to install Sylvania Cool Blues, I noticed too that it looked a little different.
It's a good quality bulb. I kept it, until the headlight in my other car (1988 Camry) went out. I installed it, drove it for several more years until I sold that Camry with the original Maxima bulb in it.
The Cool Blues on the other hand....They only lasted 2 years and towards the end of their life, they were so dim that I could barely see.
