ECU codes

Hey Guys. Thanks for all of the good information so far. You all rock! Question for you all. I've been having engine problems and I pulled the code and it was 5 long and 1 short. I found a site at one time to tell you that stuff but I didn't bookmark it... BTW, I have a 94 SE with the 5 speed. One more unrelated to the engine problem question. I have the leather interior but no power seats....Looking at the information, I thought that was required? Am I wrong?? Thanks guys

94 SE 5 Speed
White/Black leather
67K Miles...(still a virgin....lol)

That's interesting that the Power Seats aren't required. Back to the other question....Are the ECM codes the same for 1994 as the codes for 95-99?? I found a list of 95-99 codes but none for 94. On that list for 95-99 the code 0501 is not on there. Odd. Also, I found that it is triggering my knock sensor. Help....PLEASE!! This is driving me nuts.

Thanks,
Mike

Steve has a good FAQ site as posted below. I don't see the code you mentioned though.

Okay, here you go my friend, I just looked in my FSM for my 92 SE and here's what I came up with. The pulses can be directly translated into numbers. 5 longs = 5 tens, and 1 short = 1 ones, so the code is 51.
Code 51 is the "injector circuit" and malfunction detected when "injector circuit is open". It tells you to check the: "harness and connector, and injector(s)"

Hopefully my 92 VE30DE codes are identical to your 94 codes (I don't see why not). Good luck!

Thanks a lot. The dealer replaced 2 injectors and checked the rest when I bought the car.......Sounds like they didn't get all of the clips tight. Lovely Downers Grove Nissan in Chicagoland area. AVOID them at all costs. They have caused me nothing but problems. That would cause the low end miss and the loss of power. Can you scan a copy of those and send them to me?? If so, That would be great!! Let me know.

Unfortunately if only 2 were replaced more may have gone bad. It seems to be a common problem on 3rd gen Max. Knock on wood I haven't had a problem yet.
