Take off the intake manifold...
Remove the valve cover...
Extract the broken bolt....
Replace it all in reverse order.

Have fun with it

You can come up with something at the hardware store with some Common sense.
Or take it to the nissan counter for the exact part.

If there's enough of a chunk, cut a slit at the top with a dremel cutting bit and unscrew with a flathead.

is it actually broken, or is it just unscrewing the stud from the top of the head?

+1

A few of my valve cover studs unscrew from the head instead of the round nut.

A long time ago I broke two of them on my front valve cover and failed at the extraction. Its still that way today, 0 leaks.

yeah.. nissan's proud of little parts like that.
I ordered a complete set of the rubber bushings, cup washers, and acorn nuts for my front valve cover on the engine rebuild (can't see the rear, so screw them)..
cost me like $75 just for a dozen washers and nuts.

why can't you just go to the hardware store and get some 8.8 studs/washers/nuts/etc.? you can take old ones in to compare size, thread pitch, and whatever, all for less than 1/4 the price. am I missing something?

What do you mean it won't come out? do you mean the whole stud? Or the broken part? Can you screw it back in? The thing is, if it is broken at the base, it would still come out leaving the broken part on the head.
This is a pic of one of the stud that i took not two days ago, so the memory is still kind of fresh.

I bought the nuts at a hardware store, but had to empty a few of them to get enough for a complete set.

You could probably find the stud, ive found the nuts. The washer and bushing each have a unique shape and you wont find anything exactly like it.
