Whats your max weigh?

Searched through the threads to find out what peoples maxima's weigh after a little weight reduction, and what all did you take out to get it there. I know mine weighs 3300lbs with me in and a 1/4 tank. (Using a grain elevator scale.)

mine wieghs about the same with me in it as of about 4 years ago thats no reduction im sure you could get it down below 3k pretty easy but you start down a slippery sloap to it not being a maxima any more i figure its easier to add hp to make up for the wieght then the other way around

I weighed in at 3260 carrying a payload of 4 white trash bags, and at least 1/2 tank of gas.

yes it is,but what i was wondering,i plan to build a all motor 5spd.
And at what my car weighs now,i still have quite a bit to take out,not to mention cutting and stripping on the chassie (cant spell)but i cant find any videos or facts saying how fast a....well lets say a 250 hp non gutted maxima is.

I just want to know if im pushing 275hp all motor with it gutted to say 2700lbs including me..is it going to tear ***.and if so what kind of cars will it tear?

If you want to get down to 2700lbs take out everything such as vents and a/c components there is alot of weight under our dashes. In order to get a 250-275hp all motor is going to cost ya. Your best bet is drop in a VG33 and build on top of that there is a few that have done it. Not sure what kind of numbers they got better luck asking them.

good luck man your gonna have trouble on both feats getting down to that wieght will require you to remove the entire interior and the bumper supports, gut the trunk and mayby a few other things and your also gonna have trouble getting 250 na hp out of any engine that bolts into a 3rd gen but if you did acomplish those 2 things and your talking 250 flywheel hp which is about 210-220whp it would proboly run in the mid 13s with good driver and sticky tires

we lined up at the track. with his lower weight and higher power, he OWNED me. i ran a 16.3 and he ran a 13.0 on a crappy track surface. his NA stuff is working just fine, i'd say... but you'll have to ask him what his WHP is.. he has an on-car dyno.

Are you still spraying 150-shot on your VE-5? How's that working out for you?

It depends on the brand of jets that you're using... 75-shot with NX jetting (what Arron is using, iirc) is supposed to add 75 whp. 75-shot with NOS jetting is supposed to add 75 chp.

aaron says 310 hp, 265ft-lbs.
weight:2890 with aaron, so yeah, 2700 is possible with the ve...

and 13.7 n/a is still a respectable pull. i probably couldnt hit 17 sec with my car, but its pretty stock, and i don't know how to take off with a stick well....

When did he say that? Is that with n2o and the gtech? Those numbers seem off. Usually non-high revving, n2o motors make more tq than hp...

im no longer spraying my max at $40 per bottle fill up it was getting to expensive and it seemed i never had the bottle filled when i needed it not to mention i need the car to be as reliable as posible because my sister drives it alot now because thats the only way i was able to talk my parents into letting me keep the max plus my 2 f150s and my previa while living at home although some day when i move out the max will be fast but it wont get its power from a bottle

as far as what the car will run in the 1/4 my guess at mid 13s was just a conservative guess it my be able to run faster than that but i dont like to get peoples hopes to high

Oh, I found it. Here's what it says.

"Estimated Horsepower: 310HP at crank and 265 fwhp"

These ratings must be with a 75-shot.

your going to have a hell of a time getting 220whp out of a vg30 even a ve is almost imposible to get that much power out of in my opinion it would be cheaper and faster if you turbo it and you wouldnt have to touch the wieght and you wont catch hell for gutting the interior

just think of this you have a gutted max and you race and beat a non-gutted car most of the time hes going to say "oh but you have no interior if i did that to my car i would have won" now ofcourse you still won but i dont like to give people excuses like that

My website says "Estimated Horsepower: 310HP at crank and 265 fwhp".

Also, "Curb Weight at track (with driver): 2890 lbs".

Yes, those are estimated with the 75 shot. I use the Dynotune Wet Kit and it provides close to an extra 75whp. When someone says they have a 75 shot, the information you really want to know is what size nitrous jet they are using and at what pressure their bottle is kept at.

But All Motor, my best dyno is 175hp. That was in very poor conditions. I think the motor could have done over 180hp if I wasn't heating it up for over an hour before putting it on the dyno.

But if you want to go fast for cheap, there's only one way. Gut the crap out of the car, remove exhaust components, remove air filter, put in race fuel, and spray a 100 wet shot and hang on!

OOPS!!! misquoted! I was in a hurry, and wanted to put it out there. Knew you would chime in eventually, but I wasn't sure when. (and the 265 ft lbs sounded weird, but i put what i thought i saw...)

Wanna line em up? jk

If I was any where close to the stock HP I wouldn't be running 3 seconds faster than stock. And a stock VE auto only makes about 140fwhp. So I estimate I am making around 230hp at the crank.

yea lets do it, any place, anywhere, anytime.. while im sleepin though.
well you do have a crazy weight reduction plus nos aside from the bolt ons.. so that would account for the 3 seconds. and im pretty sure i saw many people dyno a nearly stock VE on these forums and get around 173fwhp. even one guy was almost stock and got 180. gonna go look for the thread.(i think you chimed in on that thread IIRC) it's about a 15% loss compared to the crank no? 140fwhp is a bit drastic dont you think?

230hp at the crank is pretty sweet tho

Remember, I said "VE Auto". They honestly only make 140-145fwhp completely stock. Now the VE 5spd is a completely different beast! It can make high 160s completely stock. I too have seen near stock VE 5spds do 170s. They just had a couple bolt ons and timing advance.

My weight reduction only helps me by about 7 tenths in the 1/4 mile. If I did not do any kind of weight reduction at all, I'd be running somewhere around 14.5-14.6s All Motor in the 1/4 mile. That's pretty impressive for a VE Auto with FULL body weight. Now if I pieced my car back together so it appears to be full body weight, then I'd only lose 2 or 3 tenths in the 1/4 mile. I plan to do this once I see those 11s!

But there's a big difference between what a VE Auto can do and what a VE 5spd can. If someone wanted to, an NA VE 5spd with my modifications can do a 13 flat in the 1/4 mile if not high 12s. All it will take are some large slicks and a good driver. If a VQ 5spd can do it, then a VE 5spd isn't more than a tenth or so behind it with the same mods.

But a VQ30 Auto and a VE Auto are way different. One runs high 15s stock and the other is lucky to run mid 16s stock.

One runs high 15s stock and the other is lucky to run mid 16s stock.
yea i hear ya man. i cant believe the whole thing about auto and 5spd completely slipped my mind

yeah the stock VE auto is a stronger combo then the VQ auto imo

good luck wit those 11's btw
