Interior dash lights and switches

I was wondering if someone could help me out. The interior dash lights or switches on the 3rd gen maxima's are green. Could someone tell me what gives them the color? Is it the buld that is painted green or does the bulb have a small cover over it that gives it the color or do the switches or gauges give it the color? Thanks.

well on the gauges, they are tinted slightly green on the plastic of the gauge face itself, however the bulbs themselves have green slipcovers on them too. The result is the green you see. If you mess with the color, it looks different, as I experimented with on my GXE gauges. SE is white and the bulbs have light blue slipcovers that basically color-correct the yellowish light produced by incandescent bulbs and make it pure white.

Not really "light-related"... but the clock is tinted green by the plastic in front of the actual display.

It's still green without the plastic, just much brighter.

Its a lighter green as well as brighter. The early 90s Integra has the same display for its clock, but the plastic shading there makes the light white.

Not to thread jack but does anyone know how to make the clock not green other than swapping the integra clock face in?

And, im not sure if t was answered yet, but the switches (i.e. the fogs/dimmer etc) have the cover with the design in it tinted green. It scratches off leaving a clear piece of plastic but then alot of light gets transmitted. I decided to try that route with my blue leds and it made them too bright, so i put my other set back on and the blue leds look perfect with the green tint, no green showing and theyre just the right 'brightness'

Short answer: You cant swap it in because the shape and circuit are different. I transfered the display itself thinking that it was white and the plastic simply dimmed it, but was wrong.

you can also use tinted cellophane to create the blue and then the red will still be red.
