OK Gentlemen,(and Ladies!) here is yet another technical question. What are the differences in the bottem ends of these engines??? (Blocks, pistons, rods, cranks, etc....) Is the VE block iron or aluminum? I know the VG block is iron. Is the VE as tough as a VG??? Any proper answers would be very appreciated.
Thx,
Ben

The VE block is iron, but the heads are aluminum(al-u-min-ium to the English Touring Car announcers). Its just as tough, if not tougher than the VG. The only real problem over the VG is the NVCS..

I believe the VE30DE has a stronger bottom end than the VG30E. Unless the crank in the VG is the same forged one as in the 87-89 300zx's that is. But the tensile strength of the rods are the same for VE30DE and VG30DETT. Its bottom end is bullet proof, not idiot proof though .
