Poll: BMW lights...
I know everyone has heard way too much about this....
I installed one side today, and I may have some misgivings about completing the other side as well. I am submitting this poll so you can voice your opinion.
Personally, I don't like the fit. I probably have the best fit I have seen(about 1/2" between hood and light, hard to tell(stock has about 3/8")), but the fact that its flat and sticks out from under the hood at each side and then is set back under the hood about 3/4" at the middle. Yes it makes my maxima look different, but after doing this I think the OEM lights look better on the maxima. Even if they made some proper fitting BMW style lights for our cars, I still think I would like the OEM better. I was going to try to utilize the stock refractor over the BMW lights but after taking the refractor off, I found that it would be too much work, and would diminish what you could see under the lense when the lights are off.
Granted the OEM lights are extremely weak, maybe some of you have installed the BMW's for better lighting performance.
Perhaps some of you have installed these for a custom look, or for possible future HID's.
Anyways I am 90% sure I will be selling these. One of them is installed on the bracket, all you would have to do is bolt it up, and the other one will have to be installed on the bracket per Skymax's instructions. $100 shipped my loss your gain.. I paid $130 total for these.

I don't like the fitment of them and too many people have done the mod-meaning it has lost it originalty.
I was thinking about doing a A31 cefiro front end swap. I doubt the parts (fenders/aftmkt bumper/hood/lights) will bolt on but at least it will look nice -imo anyway.

the main reason i did the mod was because i had the HID equiptment that i could make work in the BMW lights and not the greatest in the stock housing. I can have HID and high beam, and also can use the special projector lense with the xenon so i get the clear light of HID to the max potential. Otherwise i wouldnt have bothered putting hte effort in to change, although i do think it gies it a nice custom look and sort of modernizes the look of the car.
the best would be if someone who worked in plastics of glass or somethring could come up with a cover for the BMW lights that is curved like the stock lights and just fits over the BMW headlight.. replace the clear straight lense with a curved one that actually follows the shape of the hood.

You might want to modify the grille you already have though by taking a little out of the height and length then reforming. Most A31 grilles are fairly bland/ugly compared to your Max grille.
I respect the time that people put into fitting the BMW lights but yet to see them look quite 'right' enough to consider installing them myself. Some of the botched jobs with 1 inch gaps look downright shocking.
Besides, my stock lights were H4 anyway.
