Identify This Electrical Component (Part Two)

This caught my eye while pulling ECU codes:

This box was not secured and just sitting on top of the ECU. Is another part of the ECU or maybe the auto tranny control unit and is no longer necessary? I've never been much to mess with wiring unless I must, which is probably why I don't already know this...

really can't tell what it is from the pic (or at least I cant anyway) but from the looks of it, it's obviously nothing that you'd want to play with, looks like it can literally make or break your electrical system for the entire car, I'd think the best bet would be to secure it if possible, and leave it alone as long as its workin...but I might have to peep around my max and see what its all about too though lol

?? The TCU is a lot smaller than that and mounted next to the steering column.

That there is the auto control unit.

Aha, you can tell by my "??" that I was wondering how you could have mistaken that for the time control unit, because you're always on key in regard to the electrical sys.

Is their a reason you need to remove it? If your car is running fine then why not leave it?

If you do feel the need to remove it, then just unplug it and test. Plug it back in if things stop working.

you can remove it or leave it, but it'll just free some space up for working on that part of the car if you ever have to, plus a very small weight reduction. or if you want to sell it.
