go to General Mainenance Sticky, post #18. VE has the 2-mode system (VG has 5-mode) so my video won't apply to you 100%, as the video is of a VG ECU.

Are you sure it isn't 5-5?

That would be the code for no problems. These cars don't throw codes very often.

If it is a 6-6, that is a code for a misfire in cylinder No. 3.

heh yea i read the OP's post too quick the first time. flashing is how the ecu tells you what number code you have. long flashes (on a VE... or red for VG) are the tens place, and short flashes (on a VE... or green for a VG) are the ones place. so ___ ___ ___ - - - - would be 34. ___ ___ would be 20. ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ - - - - - is what you want to see. i didn't know our ecus were smart enough to indicate which cylinder was misfiring... unless it reads a totally broken coil on that injector, thus, no continuity.

Yeah, 55 is normal operation or that there is currently no codes stored. If you had a misfire on number 3 you'd definatly be able to tell, it would be shaking and have poor acceleration and what not.
