if i may ask... why put wider rubber on the back end of a FWD car? if anything wouldn't you want to neutral the handling out a tiny bit by having more front grip than rear?

you may improve rear handling on a track day car with bigger tires in the back if you had a huge whale tail wing in the back other than that maybe it would look good. hell tub out the back, put in a set of slicks and make everyone think it rear wheel drive.

i was just thinking in terms of RWD->oversteer and FWD->understeer... personally i've never lost the rear end of my car. the front, yes, but the backend, no. so i'd sacrifice a little rear grip if it meant the car would rotate a little bit better. (as for tubbing....my uncle has a tubbed out slicked-up mustang that breaks 7's. 30x12.0R15 slicks out back and skinnies up front, 300shot on a 427 motor.)

that's pretty much what i figured. though the more rubber hitting the road, the more braking force you can apply before locking up. just warn the passengers before slamming the pedal haha.

Oh definitely. My brakes are enough to **** people off and pretty sure my dad just walked into advance and asked for brakepads about 6 years ago and thats whats on there. No fancy pads, nice rotors, etc.

measure your vehicle with the wheels off and get a string with a plumbob or weight and a tape measure. Start with the distance from the hub to the fender lip and from the fender lip to the strut. You'll know how wide of a wheel it can take and just figure in your offset with your measurement you just took.
Alot of guys like the flush look (wheels even with fender), I personally like to leave 1/2-3/4" clearance so I can lower the suspension and have no rubbing at all. My 3rd Gen is running 17x7.5" wheels with 225/45/17 tires and 1.5" dropped ST springs!
