Cai spacer

On my old 3rd gen I bought a spacer from an org member that goes between the intake manifold and the intake tube but I forget who... Please refresh my memory. ty

That was probably Aaron92SE with http://www.nwpengineering.com/

Good Luck!

BTW, where did you get your Otto FSTB and how much was it? Thanks.

Hmmm... I'd call it a throttle body spacer, Intake spacer could be confused with Intake Manifold spacer.

Did you notice any difference once you installed these NWP throttle body spacers? I'm not sure why the didn't design one for the VG30E lower IM and the IM to heads?

yeah it's a good mod to have... unfortunately we didn't get to dyno it, but I think it helped showcase the VG's strengths even more. and we got a 25deg temp drop overall. The reason we decided against doing the UIM/LIM spacer is because when he was looking at my EGR pipe he realized that the costs of making a flex-hose EGR pipe to go with the kit, along with the extra cost of that extra spacer, would make the kit too expensive for any of the VG guys to want to buy... he needed at least 10 deposits to make a run of them, and there was just no way to get 10 deposits as expensive as that kit would have been. The reason the EGR was an issue (rather than using an EGR block plate) is because some ECUs require a signal from the EGR temperature sensor... meaning you'd get a CEL if you blocked the EGR. Not all models have this requirement, but some do, and he only wanted to make one version of the kit that would work with ALL VGs. If he were selling thousands of units, perhaps he could have afforded to design a few variants... but the 3rd gen community (VE or VG) didn't have enough demand for him to do so.

I noticed an increase right away on my VE when I installed the kit, granted it probably has a larger effect on the engine than the VG. It felt like high end was slightly improved, the IM feels a tad cooler to the touch after driving, and throttle response seems improved. I can't say it was all the Spacers though, as I did put on a bored out IM and a new knock sensor while I was at it. But I imagine the knock sensor would only really affect low end, and I notice a different audible noise coming from the Intake at extreme high end (5700rpms-redline)

Though I definitely think it's a worthwhile mod IMO.

You can vaguely see the TB spacer here:
