Get a antifreeze flush. It worked for me.

Does the temp gauge show normal temp, or always cold, or what?

Coolant level?

Getting any flow through the heater core?

Does it blow hot air if you rev it up at all? Or while driving?

Last time the cooling system had any maintenance (if ever)?

if the coolant is bled, and the t-stat is new, check the vacuum lines for the heater valve int the engine bay.

I've seen the 3rd gen need some serious bleeding depending on how it is done.
took me over 30 minutes to bleed my VE on level ground

disconnect the heater hoses and run water thru it or air to ensure it's not blocked internally by crud or corrosion

Can you hear the blower fan running when you turn the heater on? A friend of mine just replaced his heater core a couple days ago
