All you have to do is take your old lense off your 89.
Being very careful break the red lense inside the lamp assembly
piece by piece and remove the pieces , being very careful not to break the outer lense I have done it succesfully 10 to 20 times only breaking 3 lenses. BIMO, I think it looks silly as I sported this look and relized it looked horrible! Also make sure you go to a shop and get colored bulbs dont want to get a ticket! (red) bulbs!

why do you want to make your max fugly? the reason they dont make them for 3rd gen maximas is because they dont belong on them. get it?

Isnt this topic a lil worn out by now? I mean, clear tails arent even really that popular for Honda's anymore, they're starting to get phased out pretty much. Besides, I think they're fugly. I was trying to get some custom made a couple years ago, but decided against it. A couple years back I bought a pair of junkyard tails off an 89 Maxima, and customized them like on that picture. They didnt look too good. I did a nice job, it's just that it looks retarded with the red square on the sides and in the middle, not to mention the "clear" is actually true clear and you can see the whole light fixture through it. Looks retarded.

If any of you guys want to know more just ask some one with a 4th gen that cleared there tails.
