I have read many post recently on fuel injectors on here and I see most guys recomending OEM Bosch injectors but I was wondering if some of you could please give their personal experience with the reliability of remanufactured injectors? My 89 has 280k and one of them in the front is open, this is a beater that I run everyday and don't really want to spend $150 for a Bosch but if it is only going to last a couple of months or so It would be foolish not to. Any input on how long a remanufactured one has lasted would be greatly appreciated.

Cliff's Notes: reman= crap
don't buy them.

Buy NEW Bosch injectors only.

Stay away from Python and any of the rebuilders. they jsut don't work as a permanent solution.

I've used rebuilts before.
less than a month later I had to replace all of them and then some.
popped in new ones and they stayed there until the car looked like this:
actually they were still in the car unless kyle took them.

Thanks for the input guys, it is just weird that parts stores keep selling them if they dont even last a month or two, you would think that if they were that bad and all were returned that soon and that often they wouldn't even sell them. I might try junk yard OEM's over the expensive Bosch.

you can't really "rebuild" an injector... you would have to open it and unwind the coil, re-wind it the coil with new wire, and seal it up again. all they actually do is clean them. If you think about it... where do they get the injectors to 'remanufacture'? Core returns when people buy ones that they already 'remanufactured'.... well if you are bringing an injector in as a core, it's probably because it was already messed up to begin with right? So they clean injectors that were already being thrown away by the original owner, cleaning them, and reselling them........

they only injector that really has major issues with being rebuilt is the 3rd gen injector. It fails electrically rather than plugging up like most other injectors.

if they 'backflush' them without removing the screens first, it's a total waste of time. cuz those screens are SO fine that even wheh my camera at super-super closeup focus, it still barely made out the weave of them.

Governor, I checked my repair notes and my 2 reman injectors that were installed by a garage have been running since FEB 2008. Another of the original injectors blew recently so I just bought the new Bosch one, as I noticed the garage charged me $90.00 on the invoice for the reman. So those 2 I just tested and the impedance is 12ohm & 11.8ohm. They are blue dots. The originals were green dots. The new one I just bought is yellow dot.
