What is causing this squeeling noise? [in the engine]

I uploaded some vids. Not sure if its the belts thats causing it or what. It doesn't sound like belts because it would squeak like that throughout, no matter if the car is warm or cold.

Have you done anything to eliminate the belts as a possibility? Better yet do you know they last time they were replaced?

You might have a bad bearing on your a/c belt tensioner pulley, remove the a/c belt, see if the noise goes away, if not, continue removing each set of accessory belts until you find the issue.

Might be a pulley. I know 1 of mine was loose, tightened it up, no more squeal.

I had that issue last year on a hot day, One of my belts were squeaking so loudly. I sprayed some belt dressing on the belts and found it was coming from the a/c belt. So I just replaced it since it hadn't been replaced before, put the new belt on, and no more squeak. First I took it to a mechanic, who told me that it was the idler pulley, but I already knew what it was. Also, sometimes the belts can be loose and squeal like that.

ATF won't hurt the belt or cause it to slip right?

Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms? Yeah they'd prolly do a number on the belts... but seriously the ATF would just be a diagnostic, if it takes care of the noise you're going to replace the belts anyway, at least I would hope so.

would the ATF cause them to slip, but do so quietly? or would it make them grip better? I'm weary of this method when the far superior method is just taking them off one at a time until the noise goes away.

All the accessory belts are new from 05, I have the receipts from the previous owner. Just the timing belt was not changed.

Blah, their is no reason to replace 4 year old belts unless there are signs of wear, like cracks or fraying..

Dude - you have the car there - open the hood and listen at the various rotating members around the belts and get busy with tools. Getting to a funky bearing/pulley is really as easy as that.

As Greeny said already - its prob the tensioner on one of the belts - thats all your videos can make us say.

4 days worth of posts here to find a frigging squeal is ridiculous.

Right, what I mean is theres no cracks or wear and the belts look brand new. The owner only put 20k since 05. I don't know how to remove the belts myself, it might be easy for you but not for me.

OK fine.

What is it you want from this thread then? - a recipe on how to remove the belts or the directions to the nearest mechanic?.
