ignition help

I'm looking into upgrading my ignition system just for some more power and I was wondering what you guys would recommend (spark plugs and wires) also can I replace the factory coil with an msd (ride is a 92 GXE)

I would really recommend a 5 speed swap before trying to add more power to an auto vg.
aside from that, the z31 guys would know more about that than I would.

stick with the basics ngk stark plugs and some desent plug wires oem or ngk blues none of autezone crap.

i prefer the coppers just so i have an excuse to inspect them yearly.

anybody have any input on the coil, would one like this work on our cars (mine is a 92 GXE)

how are you gonna hook it up tho? what 2 wires are you gonna put on those posts?

Yeah, I've upgraded from Nissan's stock Oem epoxy coils on my D21 Hardbody truck and I've started on my 90 VG as well. What I did was found a connector that plugged into the stock Engine harness connector and soldered in larger gauge wire and installed the eyelet stud terminals on the end soldered and crimped then heat shrunk. I'm gonna use a Mallory Ignition control box 6A and Mallory oil filled coil 29440 that's good up to 8000rpm and is for street/strip use! If you can't find the compatible connector just cut it off (leave enough to solder back on) and wire in the coil straight. You will notice the improvement in throttle response and no more coils replaced after this!!!
