E-Brake Issues

My E-brake light is constantly on while i am driving the car,(no i'm not driving with it on ...adurr...).This issue just came up out of the blue. The E-brake is perfectly functional and still works like it should, I jacked up the car and tried spinning the back wheels by hand w/ the E-brake off and they spin freely like normal. So i'm assuming it is a bad sensor, ( if there is one for the ebrake) or wiring, or something like that. Could someone please shine some light on my little situation here?

could be the switch on the ebrake handle is bad, or stuck, possibly from a soft drink spill or something..

It could also be low brake fluid, or a bad/stuck brake fluid reservoir sensor..also, check the wire harness for looseness/corrosion on both the ebrake handle switch and the brake fluid reservoir..
