Shouldnt have to cover anything, some people cover their alternators, and some (even fewer) cover their dizzy.
I never cover anything up, never had any drama's, even when spraying up underneath the engine bay (apart from a couple of minutes of odd idle RPMs each time while the distributor is drying)
Fuses are covered in boxes and wires have harnesses for reasons

it's your car...if it works for you so be it but what works for you might not work for others.

Rad fans on all the time usually means the coolant temp sensor either has a bad connection, or has malfunctioned..In your case the harness connector at the cts may be full of water, usually from a broken rubber boot cover on the end of the harness plug..

Go to and automotive store and buy some CRC 556. You can spray this on all your wires and in your distributer cap. It helps take moisture out of wires and the electronics in the distributor.

It's not water based, it works so good it's surpress cross fire, and yes, it stands for water displacement 40, Ive never had a nissan cap get wet inside, check your cap gasket it's defective or your cap is cracked!
