1990 VG30E installed... Finally!

Came home Wednesday evening and removed the hood and installed the engine with the help of my lovely wife. The weight of the engine in the front now has the dropped (Suspension Techniques) suspension stance about a 1/2" higher than my 2003 Maxima w/Progress Sport Springs. The stance is lower than stock and quite obvious.
Couldn't get from in front of the TV with the Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett deaths Thursday....
Came home today and installed the power steering pump, altenator, starter, a/c compressor, secured the flywheel to torque converter, transmission/engine gusset, both tensioners with newly pressed in bearings, I'll work on the Passenger driveshaft assy install tomorrow and all the coolant hoses and power steering hoses....Those 3m filled motor mounts are feel pretty stout! The real nightmare will be those emission hoses since there are so many!

Is this a new(used) VG30E w/ "old" auto tranny? How many miles are on it? How many miles on the tranny?

It's the original VG30E and trans with approxiately 178K. The driveshaft and rack & pinion assys are all new. But the transmission will be ok, a middle aged women owned this car before and it was overheated at one time, that's why I actually rebuilt the short block once I saw the deep scratched/gouges on the cylinder walls that were catchable with my finger nails. Other than that It would have been a head and valve job only along with the other port and port matching work and bolt-ons, etc....

Its about time. Now put the axles in and whatever other tightening you've got to do and take it around the block. I'm so excited. I'm getting enough money Monday to finish the VE (get everything I thought I wasn't going to be able to afford) and fix my little problems with the VQ. I'm looking at seats now.

lol I talked to Delvin an hour ago about Maxus. He said there were two 3.5 3rd gens. Of course Aaron and some other guy no one knows who. If I can get the money in 2 weeks I'll have her up and running before school starts.

CMax what do you think a fair price is to offer a friend who would do the valve job & re-ring for me (VG30E). Considering that I will do all the inspection and measuring work and ordering and paying for all the parts, as well as handing him the block and head with all the necessary parts.

Valve job with (valve seals only) is about $150-$180. Reringing the short block depends on more than just the condition of the cylinder/pistons/crankshaft. Check on the price of a rebuilt short block and use yours as a core. It may save you sometime and money plus comes with a warranty! Overall It's really cheaper! I did alot of extra stuff like for instance deburred the entire interior of the block to remove all casting, flashing and sharp edges that could crack or contain casting sand particles, or slow down the oil returning to the pan! All more little details...but you get my point?

What else does it depend on?

All the rest of the **** their gonna add to your billing like disassembly, cleaning, hot tanking the block, align honing, resurfacing the block, radiusing the deck, bores, threads, whether the thrust side of the bores are within limits(out of round) and tapered.
