Advancing ignition timing

Advancing ignition timing

has anyone done this? if so what gains and such have you noticed? any problems? http://members.csinet.net/tisch/maxima/ i am curious if i should do this with my 91 se.

hey dude, yea i just did this last friday, i did not use a timing gun... YON CAN REALLY FEEL IT .. after about 35-40mph it feels the same but there is a quicker pedal responce .. i ripped a nice skid mark on my street the first time i drove it under advanced timing.

- things i found out befor i did it
1) you do it with the car ON
2)moving it the slitest bit will have some what of an effect
3) dont use cheep fuel .. ppl have been saying use 89(at the least) or 93 .. personaly i never give my max anything but 93

I got these using that link in the top right, I can't remember what it's called though, "find" "look around" "go through old posts" "archives", I think it's something like that

most people say you will notice a slight increase but nothing amazing; it's free (if you can rent a timing light or find someone who has one) and is pretty easy to do

read those links and that should answer most of your questions about it

im not for advancing it,i dont like dealing with the course of the combustion when i dont really know what im doin,cant afford to have my engine detonate
