Sad story

For me anyway. I slid out on some ice today and ended up with a large gash through the outer aluminum siding of the passenger side door. It's not pretty to look at and I plan to fix it as soon as possible. What are my options, maybe a whole new body (pretty dinged up) or just a new door? Take it to a body shop and tell them to fix it? What is the cost going to look like? I appreciate any input!

at least your okay man!! if there is no other body damage just get yourself a clean door off a junked Max, have it painted and pop it on....should be fine! get a body shop estimate and see what they have to say too.

As far as getting a door from a junkyard, would that mean a WHOLE ENTIRE DOOR, or just the outer metal? Can you even replace just the outer metal part, or must the whole door be replaced? I dont want to have to rewire any speakers or door panel lights if possible. Also, how much do doors cost at a Nissan dealer?

From a junkyard it might be easier to get the whole door but the outer panel can be replaced. I just had this done on my 91GXE by a body shop. Some dope backed into it while it was parked.

usually you cant just get the outer shell of the door, you usually have to buy the whole door as a complete unit. so your gonna have to buy the whole door

and as for finding it from junk yards.. they will only sell you the whole door as well. cant just buy the shell =( sux because they dont want to have the door with no shell

try to find one in your color, then you don't have to paint it!
