trunk lockset removal-1993 gxe

How does one remove the trunk lockset from a 1993 gxe after the rod is disconnected and the 2 hex screws are removed?

My lockset is frozen and needs to be replaced.

Also, looking to replace the stock wheels without making any modifications. Present size is: 15 inch Any suggestions?

Thanks!!

You need to remove the bolts? that hold the center-piece of your rear lights, once you do that your center-piece will pop off. As far as new wheels try www.tirerack.com they usually have good deals.

spray inside your lock with WD-40 and wait 10-15 minutes.... then spray again....

then just play with it- stick the key in and try to turn it back and forth, spent a few minutes just inserting the key and trying the lock. after 5-10 minutes of this, I've broken loose FOUR frozen trunk locks on 3rd gens. mine hasn't frozen up since either.
