Rummble durring Acceleration after 5spd swap.

Alright have had the Max on the road a few days now, was running rough at first but i figured that was from old gas, it has sat since last march.

the problem is most noticable during normal acceleration on the highway. it becomes very rough but doesnt have noticable power lose.when in cruise or deceleration the engine seems smooth. when in idle it seems smooth as well.

when making a long left hand bend there is a rummble from the passenger side as well and the rummble during accel feels also like its on the left.

Noticed, when coming to a light and stopping my engine will rev to about 2K once then maybe twice than resume normal idle. im thinking this maybe a leak in a vacuum line?

Am i having a detination issues? do i have a bad half shaft (rebooted the passenger side) ?

During the swap i replaced all of the vacuum lines and i did an oil change this morning. no different.

Things i have done:
5 spd swap.
replaced all vacuum lines.
all injectors ohm out 11~12 ohms also new as of last summer (bosch)

Suggestions, ideas, insults, all welcome.

fuel mileage seems normal.

hmm.. double check all those vac lines that you replaced, maybe one or two aren't on all the way/aren't hooked up etc. that axle boot too for the noise.
check codes? might get lucky and you might've just forgot to reattach something.

Busted motor mount. most likely during swap

still have no clue about this. swapped out IAC and redid all vacuum lines. but i noticed when its dead cold out and i start the car when the A/T switch stops flashing the engine stalls. could this be from the TCU still being connected?

vacuum leak plus bad wheel bearings or tranny bearings.

bad motor mounts are perhaps the worst thing ever. worse than death. worse than failing a grade in school. worse than raw onions, even......

if you have the ability i'd suggest polyurethane rather than stock replacement, cuz as long as you don't mind a little extra vibration at idle, then the driving/shifting/everything-about-the-car will be eleven trillion times better with stiff motor mounts.

Aren't you running the auto ECU? I thought I read that this phenomenon occurs on 5 speed swaps that run the auto ECU's

i am running the auto ECU because i was under the impression that the computer didn't care if it was AT or MT. i have a MT ecu handy. im just not looking to swap it just yet.

I'm nearly certain I remember people (Caped? I'm pretty sure) describing the issue of 5 speed swaps running auto ECU's doing the idle thing as a result of the auto ECU raising the idle speed to compensate for the torque converter or something rather (I don't remember the exact explanation but it was perfectly feasible/logical). So, yes, the auto ECU doesn't care in the sense that it is perfectly driveable, but it does cause quirks like you mention, it's just that most people don't care/notice.

I don't care to search it out, but I am 99.9% positive I remember reading that on these very forums

imo my car launched better with the a/t ecu than the m/t ecu i put in later i guess the extra idle air helped launch the car with less throttle input or something. maybe placebo tho. the only thing i noticed with RPM was that if the a/c was on and i put the car in gear and lifted off the start switch, idle would surge cuz i wired the neutral and clutch-start switches in parallel. other than that it functioned normally.
