Check your fuel lines, they are easy to see, and you shouldn't have any trouble if you have a manual for this car. The injectors are visible as well and you can typically see fuel leaking from them, if there is any escaping. The fuel lines come up from the bottom of the car, are routed on the drivers side underneath the brake booster/master cylinder, and connect to the injector rail assembly via. rubber hoses. The hoses run parellel except for a small portion which connects to the fuel filter, which is on the firewall, and it looks like a small can with a hose connected to ports on the top and bottom. There is a fuel evaporative canister which filters the fumes so that the tank isn't pressurized, the filtration makes the vapors safe for the engine to consume, I am making an assumption with the "safety" aspect, but I seriously doubt this is the source of your smell. The fuel system is pretty isolated, in my opinion, and if you can't find the leak, you're not looking hard enough. Good luck!

I did mine and the smell showed up again next year. Saw the hoises were wet again. I made sure i got a high quality FUEL INJECTION hose and used fuel injection clamps. Haven't had anymore issues.

when its cold outside is mostly when u probaly notice the smell. It most likely is coming from one of the fuel injector hoses. Get some new hoses. FUEL INJECTOR HOSES. Mine is still leaking sometimes, and I though I tighted up the hoses when I replaced my valve cover gasket.
