Groaning noise near/under backseats.
My car was running rough at cruising speed. Felt like a thudding or knocking under light throttle, but went away when I gave it more gas. Once I got home I parked the car and checked the tranny fluid thinking it may be low, turned out to be fine. Then I noticed a groaning noise and traced it to either behind or under the backseat. It seemed to happen every 5 seconds or so, and continued after I turned the car completely off (key was out). I took the gas cap off after and it seemed to stop, not sure if that's a coincidence. I planned on getting a video of the sound but it only did it once (very faint) when restarting the car.
So, I'm guessing this is the fuel pump?

Could be the fuel pump.. is it a mechanical sound, or just an air escaping sound?
You could also have a leak in the filler tube vent hose.. I don't know if it would cause that noise, but it's in the same general area and is *usually* bad on a 20 year old car if you haven't replaced it.

Figured I'd ask here instead of starting a new thread.

Why does it list two gaskets for the VG30E? One for 1989-1992 and another for 1993-1994, the older one being about a 1/3 of the price.

The groaning noise could be the gas tank equalizing pressure. My 94 and 97 would "wheeze" after parking it and when I opened the gas cap slowly, I could hear air hissing as the vacuum that builds up was equalized.

Managed to get a video of the sound.

EDIT: I can upload a video of the sound happening with the car off if needed.

Went ahead and ohmed out the injectors just to get an idea if the pump is the main cause of my problems.
Cylinder 1: 10.9 ohms
Cylinder 2: Will just check when I'm replacing the others
Cylinder 3: 8.9 ohms (only a year old, Bosch brand)
Cylinder 4: 148 ohms
Cylinder 5: 48 ohms
Cylinder 6: 8 ohms
I'm guessing the ones at 8-9 ohms are fine, and only lower than they should
be due to the car not being warmed up?
Any ideas on those manifold gaskets I posted links to?

I just checked my injectors last weekend and was pretty sure #2 was out. BenStoked posted that there is a subharness that lets you check cylinder 2 without pulling the intake. The subharness is on the drivers side of the engine, you'll need to unhook the plastic intake pipe and rotate it out of the way to get to the subharness but it's pretty easy to check and then you can know how many injectors you need going into the job.

Sounds kind of like the sound my pump makes for an extended period once or twice a year. Usually happens when the car is off. Although it doesn't happen in quick bursts like yours, it lasts for about 5 seconds and is pretty loud. Just swap the pump.

I was just going to replace the remaining 5 stock injectors. I didn't check #2 because I didn't feel like moving my intake piping.
