I am just saying, yeah, you could easily get more hp for $9k then buying that engine. Though, that engine has complete performance parts so it will be running extremely efficient compared to a more stock engine with a ton of other mods. When you get into performance internals on engines, it can end up costing quite a bit. Though, these performance parts are more fine-tuned and would work much better than stock internals. Do you guys understand what I'm saying. I'm not trying to stand up for the engine or anything because $9k will be raping me financially! I'm just saying, its not like its a complete waste of money. Though, I personally think the engine should only be about $3-6k and then it would be more worth it. Lets not argue about it though. Oh man, trust me, I'd want to buy it. Unfortunately there's the no job thing, the college thing etc. that make it unfeasable for me :P.. you must really love 3rd gen Maximas though if you'd be willing to do that. I guess I'm not that dedicated to Maximas... if I were gonna spend that much money to tell you the truth, I'd sell my Maxima, buy something like an IROC Z28 Camaro or somethin, and start making that faster... gives you a better baseline to start from.. but I was just tryin to help you out, cuz I definetely want you to do something like that, that'd be dope, but ya should just make sure you get the most bang for your buck.. but I definetely do understand the idea that the 9,000 engine would run more efficently :P

Thanks for the compliment! Well, I know what you mean. This engine is in the distant horizon for me at the moment. Though, I am seriously considering selling the Porsche I am rebuilding (I'm dropping a chevy 350 in it!) and then I would be 80-90% of the way there. Unfortunately there is also stuff like fuel injectors, fuel pump, transmission, etc. that I'd also have to do or have done to handle the engine. If you saw my Porsche, you'd think I was crazy for even considering selling it. I don't think I will though because, with the 350 in it, the figures have already been proven and I will be able to do 0-60 in 4.0sec with just a stock 350! I understand what you mean though. The Maxima is not the best base for building a powerful car, as easily as you can with muscle cars, but man I sure aspire to have a super performance sports sedan for some reason!

oh, there's no fun in it if you don't start out low and end up higher...well, yeah it's fun either way, but that would just make it all the better. and i wouldn't have loved maxima's if my grandmother didn't but one in 93. luckily she didn't buy a civic, or i'd be driving around in one of those right now...but it would be all riced out. anyway, so i got a max handed down and i love it, like i would if i got anything, but it's just better that i got a max. now i love them, that's why i'm here. oh, and i came home from work and there was a white 3rd gen GXE parked in front of my neighbors, so my car has a buddy next door for the night.

I mean, you'd already have 300hp and then add a turbo, intercooler, etc and moderately high boost to get another 100+hp. Then you'd have a lot more than the equivalent turbo setup on a stock Vg30.
dude, you cant turbo charge that 300hp engine.. its a high compression engine. thats why it is so powerful.. if you would to buy that engine then you would have to lower the compression with different rods and pistons. to turbo charge it otherwise you`ll kill the motor

Thanks for mentioning that Mykizism. I didn't even consider compression and completely overlooked that. I see what you mean though. It would be better and easier to just fit a 300zx turbo to the stock engine or do the 84-89 300zx turbo engine swap and get more power for a hell of a lot cheaper. Well, its still 300hp, which I would be more than happy to have! Either way, I am just glad that our cars do have the potential for a lot of horespower, if you really work hard at it. Ahhhh....if only Nissan gave our cars the power that BMW's have so that we'd be even meaner sports sedans.
