Changing PCV Valve

hi guys, im about to purchase a new pcv valve. I haven't changed it yet, but i was wondering if any one of you can guide me on where its located or if theres anything specifically i need to do to change it. A Few of you before commented that its one of the easiest things to change within 2 minutes. Pictures would be great. Please let me know, your input is appreciated. Thanks

What do you have VE or VG

I see you have a VE so your is tucked behind the intake manifold towards the left side/bottom(from front of car) and it's covered with a lil black hose it's not the easiest to do!!

If you have a VG it's on the back right corner of the upper intake manifold, it has a big black hose that connects to the rear valve cover. You might need to spray it with some P.B. Blast to free it up if the threads are seized.

Here I have an old picture but I circled in red the PCV valve, watch for the hose since it's aged it's very easy to break it and can't find it on local auto parts I had to find replacement on junkyard, this job is very easy to do and this is coming from an inexperienced guy who try to DIY on everything about my Maxima.

I bought mine for about 4 bucks at my local auto parts, forgot the brand but I don't think brand make a lot of difference on this case, I might be wrong but never heard about a particular brand of PCV valve

I tried autozone, pepboys and kragen without luck for that hose, they all told me it's a dealer part, only pepboys suggested to buy 1 ft of straight hose and twist as needed but I wasn't convinced I could do that having a good result, so got to my local junkyard and found 4 maximas, 3 of them the hose was terrible, lucky me on the 4th max the hose was decent and I was able to remove it without any damage.

I was looking at the hose, I think you could get away with just using some straight hose from the auto store and looping it over the other hoses to the back valve cover, it shouldn't be a problem since there's no sharp bends to kink the hose.

i put on my new pcv valve today, ended up using the same hose, it was reusable, it was kinda cracked but still works, i just used electric tape to hold it together, and clamped it too.

Im not sure what it does but that sure as hell killed that rough idle I had the hose was cracked also so i taped it up really good and replaced the PCV in like 5mins I was done. However the old PCV was all dark and looked stuck with old oil in it.
