Buyin a used car?

Expect to see things like this. Feel free to make jokes

It's a good thing I have a nice collection of spare parts. This car has needed: bumper, hood, hood latch, fender, side view mirror, window regulator, master lock switch, speed sensor, tachometer fix, stereo. Plus carpet, steering wheel and shift **** for aesthetic purposes.

Now why on earth someone would remove the speed sensor, and plug it up with a makeshift wooden dowel, is totally beyond me! Or is that some kind of hi-tech wireless speed transmitter that just looks like a piece of wood? I would love to meet that PO

Yup, but it's not a parts car, it's a fixer upper I have my VG and this atm.

Installed my junkyard wheel and shift **** today, not bad for $10. I'm bonding with this car, it's gonna be tough to let go.. Course there's plenty in store for the veegee, or whichever one I keep..

That's about what my steering wheel looked like when I first picked it up! My brother has great big hands (he is about 6-3, and somewhere around 280 lbs) and he used it as a commuter.

I like that dash color, too. At least with the brown interior. It's different to me, since both VEs I have owned were all black leather.

What junkyard did you go to? I hit the Foster U Pull It (or whatever it's called) this past summer and didn't see much. Definitely not a VE 5-speed. You should have grabbed the coil packs and ECU if they were cheap, maybe even the tranny.

Yeah the steering wheel was trash, feels a lot better driving it now with the nice one installed and a shift **** with the leather still on it. I kind of like the brown dash and door panels too. Never really thought much much of it until I got this car but i've found that it looks kind of nice, it's in good condition.

Past week I've been to the foster spot a couple times and the spot deep on Columbia a couple times. Got the black hood from Columbia and the bumper and fender from Foster. I got the steering wheel and shift **** from a VE-5 at Columbia. They were closing so I didn't get a chance to grab the coil packs or even pull them out to look, but I did pop the hood and think about it. I already have about 4 or 5 non-cracked front spares anyway. I don't think i'll bother with the transmission, I still have one I got as a trade-in that I need to get around to fixing, plus the car had over 300k miles on it. Price isn't that great either @ $155 without a core.

You're right, it's not U-Pull-It anymore, they sold out to LKQ, I didn't mind that because prices and policies actually seemed better than before, but then LKQ sold out to Pick and Pull, they charge too much for certain things. Body parts for instance. Fenders used to be $15, they're now $30 after the core refund, I think hoods are $50 and about the same for bumper. I ended up spending $100 for all 3 though because the Foster crew is cool like that

Some more that begs the question "why"?

The guy I bought it from said he bought it from a guy who did this when installing +12v and remote wire for his amp.

Seller included carpet pulled from a junkyard car. I was lazy and decided to only lay the rear half because the car is being sold, already have enough labor invested. Seam is hidden under the seats c pillar trim and center console anyhow.
