The Exhaust Pipe

I want to go under the car and cut my exhaust pipe without the use of power tools...I'm considering a chain type pipe cutter. What do y'all think.

can't you just unbolt it? Everything down there is bolt-on.

Too bad you are so far away (and expensive to ship to!)

That parts car has a perfect exhaust from the manifolds to the tail pipes.

That exhaust been roasting under there for 20 yrs through sunshine, rain, snow, ice and mucho salt. The bolts don't even look like bolts at this point. Chris, how's the cat looking on your thingy over there.

we don't get much rust here (don't salt the roads). The cat looks good, so does everything else. I would put the entire exhaust on my car right now if I didn't have a cattman y-pipe and GReddy cat-back.

I have a battery operated reciprocating saw and a chain exhaust pipe cutter at my disposal now. I'm inclined toward the chain cutter, but we'll see...a pic of the cut will be posted.

That is exactly the one I used to cut mine. The previous owner welded the whole thing from y-pipe back. So I guess you could've called it a one piece.

The chain cutter went through the exhaust pipe like butter... a perfect cut.
