VG30E or VE30DE?

I never had any experience with the VE30DE engine, only VG30E.
Now I might be able to get my hands on a VE30DE Maxima, is there any advantages/disadvantages with a VE30DE compared to VG30E except the VTC clack issue I have read alot about in here?

advantages: newer technology, higher HP, beaut of an engine

disadvantages: rare (expensive) so it's harder to find parts. "less low end torque" is what I hear (not a problem, unless you are racing from a stop).
vtc clak (cheap to fix).

my advice? do it.

Stock vs. stock advantages to the VE:

VE has 30 more hp right out of the box
No distributor (coil on plug)
VLSD in both transmissions (AT and MT)

Disadvantages:
VG I think is easier to build/turbo, etc
VTC clack. Doing a VTC rebuild is difficult
Easier to get parts for VG

If you are thinking about racing with just bolt ons, the VE is faster. Period. Look at any of the 1/4 mile threads. Of course, when you get into turbos and whatnot, the sky is the limit for either engine.

I think the VG engine is easier to repair than the VE, because the VG was produced more.

These guys above me pretty much said it all, although I will point one thing out. The VG30e has SOOOOO much more room in the engine bay for you for work with unlike the VE30DE which is crammed in there.

Here's my thoughts on VG vs. VE: no VE no care

The only VG I would ever care to own is either a built one like CMax or a turbo one.

yeah VG30E were used more, like in Quest vans and Nissan hardbody trucks. the older VG30E was used in 2nd gen Maximas, Z31, V6 200sx, etc.

VG30E is easier to turbo too because you can use a Z31 turbo (VG30ET) exhaust manifold (what im doing)

and +1 on VG30E engine bay room, VE bays look almost as crammed as Z32 TT
