Identify this VE engine noise (video)

Decided to go ahead and do the TB coolant bypass this afternoon. After doing it, I started it up to make sure I didn't have any leaks or anything, and noticed this odd noise coming from somewhere in the engine. It happened every 10 seconds or so for a good 2-3 minutes when I first started the car up. I couldn't quite locate the noise hence my moving the phone around in the video. It eventually went away, but anybody have any idea what this noise is? Never heard anything like it from any of my VE's

Took this video with my phone, but you can hear the noise I'm talking about. In the video, it starts the noise at about 5, 15, and 25 seconds

Sounds like a gas stove trying to light.. Faulty relay somewhere maybe. I doubt it's engine noise, way too slow.

It definitely wasn't something on a pulley/belt. It definitely seemed to be coming FROM the engine, but like I said I wasn't able to locate it precisely

I shall see if it does it again in the morning

i would say a relay of some sort, but it could be something hopping around, take another vid from underneath and get ur phone up there more to locate the noise better. also check to see if it does it under a load like rev it a little or something, but dont go bringing it up high in the rpm's

I haven't heard the car doing it again since that day. A couple days ago, it sounded like it did it for a second or two when I first started it up, but as soon as I got out of the car and popped the hood to try to locate it, it went away

James, it's obviously a JDM squirrel hiding behind the timing cover. Be careful when you let it out; the thing definitely has a hammer.

From an Air Force MP in Federal Way, WA for $2,000 and he was the second owner the first was a guy from Houston, TX. let me tell you i have found more errors made by previous owners in my TK3 then any of my other 3rd gens. just finishing up replacing my whole suspension including hubs and bearings as well as shocks, tie rods, rack and pinion, control arm bushings, power steering pump, and the list goes on
