Fuel Pump Question?

I ordered a fuel pump to replace my factory FP, but the one they sent doesn't look like my factory pump. The factory pump has this bell shaped valve thing on the top of it.

This picture is what they sent me.

I could probably just hook up the positive and negative wires but I wanted 2 know if the pump they sent me would take away from my fuel response and in turn lose some power. If this is going 2 cause some kind of power loss or response time loss I'm returning it. I'd appreciate any opinions , thanks.

you will be fine, provided the lph is greater than or equal to stock.
http://importnut.net/walbro.htm
instructions are almost the same, just slightly modified.

It does look like what they advertised if I explained it wrong in my first post. The problem is that it doesn't look like my factory pump, in my 1st post of this thread I pasted what my factory pump looks like(smaller pic), and the one I bought is the Accela(bigger pic). I'm sure I could hook up what they sent and it would work but would it function properly is my concern. As Benstoked stated, as long as the lph is the same or higher I'll be alright but I'm with U on not fuuckin' wit my Biitch(my ride).

It looks more like a VE fuel pump and if it works like one, you should be good to go. You bought it already so just fuuckin tho it in and report back to us.

Yeah my bad, been real busy and didn't remember to post that I installed it thursday and it seems to be fine/able 2 supply fuel fast enough 4 my Biitch. Like stated, it's probably a VE FP, the years the FP was compatible were 88,89,93 & 94. The Fuucked up part is the company I copped it from could not provide the LPH and that info wasn't in the paper work I recieved. I got a good price on it and it came w/hardware,wiring,hose, clamps, etc... I just had 2 move a couple things around to fit on sending unit and mod the pos./neg. wiring.

Install it and you'll be ok! My 190 l/hr Walbro wasn't exactly identical to the factory just installed the intake sock, the fuel hose, and wires and secure it to the fuel quanity fixture and read your instructions b4 you get started......I've installed VG Maxima fuel pumps in my D21 pickup 4cyl for yrs because it can supply more fuel and work effortless....It's really start forward!

could you give more details on this? I'm interested in doing this. VG fuel pumps are $244 and VE are $80...wtf?
you didn't list 92 in the yrs that are compatible.
what did you move around?
what was your pos/neg wiring mod?

Did you really look around? Yes it's a VG pump, works all the way up to 1994.

Actually the VG FP isn't worth the extra dough, you can get a aftermarket pump with a higher LPH. I ended up getting a higher output FP w/255lph instead but the one I originally copped had like 190 which isn't bad either. I'm planning on hooking up some boost, so since I had to change the FP out anyway I did it now. The wiring had 2 be modified a bit and the way the pump sits in the holder attached to the sending unit. Some aftermarket pumps have a wiring hareness that plugs in but you can just clip that and solder the wiring to correct circuits. Not a big deal really at all and the new pump completed my theory that the old pump was pulling more power to get cranking, in turn popping the 10amp fuse that is called for by Nissan for that circuit. Walbro is a good brand to go with and they do have higher LPH pumps if you want/need that.

this is one I found on ebay - $21 + $5 shipping . I'm sure there are better quality ones out there, but why pay $250+ when you can pay so much less?? Oh well, I'm going to give it a shot.

I ended up getting one locally, but for a VE. I changed the connectors for the wiring, the screen went on, it fit in the assembly good and it fired right up! I just don't understand why a VG fuel pump gosts more than a VE. There are plenty more VGs out there, oh well.

Yeah the factory VG pump is more and not necessary, good for you that you just did what you had 2 do.
