Ypipe is amazing though, huge difference from 3000-4000rpm

EDIT- heres a crappy vid, held the camera the wrong way and had to use a flashlight, i'll get a better vid soon. got tons of compliments on the car though

Does it feel like it was uncorked? That puny little 2" exhaust system was definitely hurting my cams and headers....I'll try to have my engine back in service this month! Buying new injectors (6ea),.......hella-spensive!

So you have a 1 piece? Nice job everything looks straight and well done.......That rear muffler looks like it's about 14"-16" long.......

A 1 piece exhaust in the sense that you have no way of taking it off or taking it apart in sections.....I didn't see any flanges nor slipjoints just in case you needed to make room during maintenance.....etc....Mine is a 3 piece exhaust the front section w/resonator> the mid pipe>the rear Muffler section....

now i get it

i dont think its a one piece, im pretty sure when they said that some flange needed to be adjusted a tiny bit they meant the exhaust flange and not the Ypipe one

Oh,ok I couldn't see a point where you could separate the exhaust system into more than 1 piece if needed.....no biggie I was just curious.....

Well tonite I worked on my 3rd Gen trying to get everything completed on the exhaust system.....I installed all the new exhaust hanger insulators and wow it's tight....very little movement when I shake the exhaust system.....I realigned my exhaust cause it seemed like my rear muffler was slightly tilted......Got my SS tip fitted and it need to be tack welded....I went with a slanted rolled 3" tip....I can see all the way to the piping ahead of the mufflert should sound pretty good....putting My motor back together....I have the heads and fuel injector off!!!!!!

Didn't we establish earlier on in the thread that Cattman doesn't/won't produce an exhaust for the 3rd gen? So why is he asking if anybody has it installed yet?

What am I not understanding?

You got yours right? He(The OP needs the read and catch up!) He disappeared B4 and that's his bad if he doesn't know how to read nor look at freakin pictures.....It's all just seating here for anyone to look at...even him! I should be able provide yall with a rev up vid once this is all back together....I'll be buying brand new injectors and might upgrade to the later VG style with the much simplier injector plugs (The Blue ones) That earlier 89-91 type sucks with that metal clip incorporated on the plug connector......

I know it doesn't exist and if he reads to gets updated he'll know as well.....The weird thing is he was part of the 3" crowd that ordered from MES (He came up missing B4) so I don't know why he's even asking about Cattman 3rd Gen stuff.....Because the catback from Cattman doesn't and won't ever exist......because of our own lack of interest in buying quality parts for even older vehicles cause when it comes down to the pure hobbyist it's not about blue book value but rather the value and quality of the components/bolt-ons.......I have that extra MES set so that might go on my dad's 3rd Gen if he interested!!!!!

It's got it's interior coated with exhaust soot and it does smoothen out the tone and volume a bit into a more mellow and ear pleasing note....All my cars/vehicles have headers and catbacks and within 500-1000 miles after the initial install they all mellowed out!

Got those heads permanently mounted and torqued today.....cleaned the mated surface till there was no residue nor dirty cloth apparent while wiping heads and block mating surfaces down..... tried that new ARP Ultra-Torque lube on the head bolts and rocker arm bolts and everthing is looking really good......Next step will be reinstalling my headers....My valve cover gaskets still look new so I might reuse them ...they only had 5000 miles on them......My exhaust manifold gaskets look like they could be reused as well they're a really thick design and hardly any crush was noticeable....but I have so many exhaust gasket sets it really not a problem.....
