Are you referring to my 3rd Gen or my 5.5th Gen regarding a 3" catback?

Wow, I finally got the mandrel exhaust systems piping on. I actually ended up getting the 2.5 diameter with their 14' magnaflow reasonator and then for laughs, welded on a thrush cherry bomb. Oh, man is it deep and loud. I think it sounds great.

I just took a picture of the edge of the piping and the muffler because I am tired, but you get the idea...

I would like to get a sound clip on soon...

I used an 18" Magnaflow resonator.....I was really surprised on how hot the exhaust gas was exiting my 22" rear muffler! I glad that you got yours installed I'll be trying to identify this timing belt eating problem....something is misaligned or something else really simple like a burr on the one of the sprockets.....??????

First off. Is the MES exhaust pipe's still available for the 3rdgen? How do I get in contact with them? Do they have a resonator pipe? I need the whole resonator pipe, from cat to muffler. My 1 year 1 week old CM stainless steel resonator pipe just split at the seam. I have a Magnaflow cat, new OBX headers waiting to go on, I have a 1 year old CES front pipe but I'm using the front pipe that came with the OBX headers(just gotta weld in a flex section) and a new Megan muffler 2.5" inlet. Everything will be 2.5" if I can get a good res pipe. I doubt there going to replace the resonator pipe...a CM rep is calling me back today about possible replacement because I'm a week over a year warranty.

http://www.mandrelexhaustsystems.com...EXHAUST/Detail Yes its still available. I think you choose what resonator you want along with the muffler. Pretty legit deal. Its the only guaranteed catback I know available for the 3rd gen I can think of still around.

I didn't know they made on for the 3rd gen. I'm more surprised they don't make one for the 4th gen. They're alright. They're more like a Cattman imitation if you ask me. Theres a lot of woop in the 5th gen section about them.

Too late... I already have a muffler coming. I wish I would have seen the brm first though. It looks like some primo exhaust piping. The dual tip muffler is fresh!!

When I was running the Oem exhaust I replaced my rusted out resonator with an 18" Cherry Bomb and of course you couldn't tell the difference with that big Oem muffler still in the mix.....

I love mine....It would only leak if you (the DIYer screwed up) I used an 18" Magnaflow 4" round muffler as a resonator and a big *** 5 x 11 x 22 rear muffler and it's quiet and deep @ idle....I went the aluminized route and painted them with 2000 degree F duplicolor exhaust paint and it's still looking new! I used clamps in the sections I wanted to be able too bring down into sections just in case I have to remove it for maintenance...

That's an easy fix then! Cut the rear pipe (just fwd of the swaybar) and pivot the pipe to the left side! All the tubing comes a little longer so it can fit or be fitted to just about anything you're gonna use!

Congrats on getting that done, that Magnaflow is huge CMax! I almost went that route after deciding to get rid of my beloved DynomaxVT (I even gave it to the muffler shop for free lol) but since I had kept my '02 Max Muffler, I had it installed again. Since it was on my beater '93 Altima 2.4L, I went 2.25" piping, Magnaflow metal core high flow cat, 18" Magnaflow 4" resonator with band clamps.....sounds mellow

Yeah that 00-03 Maxima rear muffler is the bomb and things are super quiet with it! That big Magnaflow muffler is a 11" x 5" x 22" (2.5" inlet/outlet) and things are quiet and idle is deep and mellow!

Did you ever run the variable/crossflow max muffler on your 3rd gen? I wonder how much louder the magnaflow would be vs the Max muffler. I can't believe that the Magnaflow is that large but I remember the Max muffler being 19" long so the Magnaflow is 3" longer. I don't think I could've fit the 22" Magnaflow on my Altima since my piping has to go up over the RSB and rear subframe (IRS) and the max muffler with larger piping was pushing it....your setup looks really good w/that black paint....

No It's for my 5.5th, and I have about 5 exhaust systems....2 for the 1990 (MES) and 3 for my 2003....The Magnaflow is very quiet no drone @ any speed just a deeper idle note/tone.....I have a RSB and IRS as well it cleared everything, I fabbed all the fitment and had it welding...That paint is simple 2000 degree F dupicolor High temp engine paint....I tested on a set of headers and it never peeled off after 6 months of operation....So I knew it would be fine....I do know one thing the exhaust temp is hot as hell coming out the rear muffler! The original dual tip muffler I cut off and my Dad installed it on his 93 Maxima....
